Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this workshop appropriate for?

Couples of all ages, religions, and orientations attend our workshops. Couples attend who already have a strong, healthy relationship, and couples attend to repair relationship damage and get back on track. Parents sometimes attend who have decided to end their relationship but want to do so in a way that doesn’t negatively impact their children, and receive skills to become healthy co-parents moving forward. We welcome all couples who want to work on making their relationship stronger.

Can I attend the workshop alone if I cannot convince my partner to attend?

Unfortunately no, the workshop includes many exercises for the two of you to do together in order to deepen your communication skills. I welcome a pre-retreat consultation if it would be beneficial for the three of us to speak and for me to answer any questions.

Is there public disclosure, will we have to share our issues with everyone?

No. Couples sit as an audience during the skill building lessons, but for couples’ individual exercises we provide lots of extra space and seating for you to engage privately. Couples will not be asked to publicly participate in any exercises in front of the audience, nor will any of your exercises be publicly disclosed by Dr. Satira in any form.

How many couples attend the retreats?

On average 5-15 couples attend.

Can we bring our children?

Unfortunately no, it is important that this time is spent focusing completely on the two of you.
